Starting your Bastion
What is it?
A special location that you can earn income or special abilities from. Every period of downtime you will earn Bastion Points, depending on the type of building you build, you can earn extra Bastion Points, create potions, or earn more gold every week. Bastion Points offer a way to buy one time or magical items.
It can also act as a base of operations for your party to work out of. You can also choose to build your buildings together or independantly. If you travel to a city or location with a bastion, you can have safe haven and also potential collect information from.
Frequent criminal activities can arise the suspicion of local authorities resulting in fines, jail, or seizure of your bastion
When do I get buildings?
At levels 3, 7, 10, and 13 you will have the option to buid or expand your bastion. At later levels new buildings may become available.
Pick your location
It can be in or around these cities; Saltmarsh, Seaton, Nine Oaks or if you have somewhere else in mind. You can check the Javan Bay map to get an idea of locations around.
How to Earn Bastion Points(BP)
Every down period you will earn 1d6 per player of downtime(rolled at start together). You have the oppurtunity for bonus BP earned weekly through buildings such as Arcana Study, Merchant Store, and Docks/Smuggling Operation

Buildings
Arcana Study
Gain the Arcana Specialist Feat, while within study your party and you gain bonus to Arcana. You gain +1 arcana all the time as well as access to a bastion ability - Wall of Arcane Force.
Oppurtunity in future for creating scribe and magical buildings. These buildings can provide special abilities, access to recover spell slots, and portals.
Garden
Gain the My own Botanist Feat, which gives you 2 doeses of magical herbs per day. You can use these doses to gain resistance*, advantage on checks*, and to cast Entangle or Goodberry. Grow enough material for 1 healing potion per downtime week.
With future oppurtunity to create more robost potion alchemy buildings
Tavern / Inn / Brothel
While inside your tavern or Inn gain the Hospitality Specialist which provides +2 Charisma (while inside your establishment), boon that provides temporary hit points and advantage on checks with locals.
With future oppurtunity to create unique features that can provide consumable foods, beverage or services that provide benefits to your party.
Merchant Store (General goods)
A small shop which earns you the New Merchant Feat. Once per session you can "Trade Favour" to receive an item up to 50% off, armour, weapons, and uncommon magical item, scroll, potion, or tool. You also get 10% off from stores for common items, gain proficiency in investigation, unique downtime activity, and one set of artisan's tools.
With future oppurtunity to grow into specific goods.
Smuggling Operation
Allows you to build a smuggling operation. Gain the Underworld Courier Feat, gaining Ghost Coins you can use for various actions, such as hidding items, passing without trace, and teleporting small objects.
Future oppurtunity for additional shipping contacts and arrange deals for gp, bp, etc. Max shipping contacts equals your CHA modifier.
Fortification
Build a fort with up to 5 guards to defend the fort and immediate area. Gain the Local Defender feat. Providing different benefits and special actions.
In future you will have the oppurtunity to upgrade your fortication which can include mortars, barracks and other combat related actions.
